Who We Are

RAI Group started thirty years ago as an information technology company servicing the healthcare and retail industries. When a client had difficulty with its private label credit card processor, RAI came to the rescue by developing its own private label credit card operation in response to that client's specific needs and requirements. As an outgrowth of its consumer credit business and in response to the changing landscape of the commercial lending and banking industries, RAI has evolved into a multifaceted asset-based lender. From its headquarters in Northern New Jersey, RAI offers a wide range of financing options, management consulting, and customized financial and computer-based services for middle market companies throughout the United States and Canada. The company is an active member of the Commercial Finance Association.

Philip Schatten, president and founder of RAI, has more than thirty years experience working with start-up as well as public companies to resolve their financial, systems, and telecommunications problems. As a successful entrepreneur, having started and operated numerous companies, Mr. Schatten has the hands -on experience and know how to quickly assess the immediate and longer term problems confronting a start-up company or a mature business struggling to survive. He also possesses the financial resources within RAI to quickly implement a strategy for change that addresses your company's financial needs.

Bette Gandelman, senior vice president of RAI, has more than twenty seven years lending experience, helping private and public companies satisfy their short term and permanent working capital requirements. For the past ten years, she has headed up RAI's marketing team responsible for cultivating new clients and addressing the on-going financial needs of RAI's customer base. Prior to joining RAI, Ms. Gandelman spent seventeen years with Harris Bank/Bank of Montreal where she became Vice President of its Retail Specialty Group in Chicago and New York. She has extensive experience structuring financial transactions for companies of various sizes and industries. She has been a member of the Economic Club of Chicago since 1984.
